Rodrigo Mendoza Tavera 1968, Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico. From 1986 he worked as a painter and graphic artist. During his career include book illustrations, posters and specialized in zoology, anatomy and botany. He has illustrated over thirty books and drawings published in twenty journals in America and Europe. He has participated in over seventy solo and group exhibitions. His work is part of public and private collections in Mexico, Spain, USA, Canada, Cuba, Paraguay, Austria, France, Australia, UK, Germany, Switzerland, Holland and Italy. Is Honorary Assistant, Department of Botany, University of Seville, Flora Iberica Project illustrator and collaborator on the project ANTHOS, Royal Botanic Garden Madrid, coordinates the Relationship of Michoacán, which participate contemporary artists whose objectives are the promotion of Spanish art in Mexico and Mexican art in Spain. A plant species named after him: Hippocrepis Tavera-mendozae and in 2006 won the International Print Ciudad de Alcalá. Currently working in Shipyard / Barcoojo, his own workshop in Seville, Spain, where since February 1996.
